Carl Aspler has worked as an organization change specialist for almost thirty years. He has worked as a trainer, manager, executive development specialist, and consultant in change management.
From 1989 until 1995 he worked at General Electric Canada, where he played a key role helping develop and implement the GE Work-Out concept – a successful empowerment and productivity improvement process. He was also involved in the teaching and dissemination of “CAP”, GE’s set of change management tools. Carl has facilitated hundreds of meetings, Work-Outs, strategy sessions and teambuilding events in both the public and private sector. He has designed and taught courses in leadership, coaching, facilitation skills, conflict management and problem solving in a wide variety of settings from high tech, financial services, manufacturing and services.
Since 1995 Carl has managed Carl Aspler & Associates Inc., a firm specializing in organization change, facilitation, teambuilding and training. His clients have included the provincial and federal governments, Sears, Maple Leaf Foods, Home Depot, Bombardier, Desjardins Financial,, Bell Canada, Royal Bank Financial, Nike and the various businesses of General Electric.
From 1997 until 2003 he was involved in teaching at GE Capital’s Center for Learning teaching change management as part of GE’s drive towards Six Sigma quality. He has also been part-time faculty at University of Toronto’s Diploma Program in Adult Education. He has contributed and facilitated at programs at the Ivey School of Business and has also been a consultant with Queen’s University’s Centre for Enterprise Development.
Carl has a B.Sc. from McGill University and an M.Ed. from the University of Toronto. He lives in Toronto with his wife Martha, also a consultant, and their two children, Daniel and Sarah.
